Your library
Add a license with a key
Adding a license key links the app and its license to your Polaris Locker account. The app stays in your library even if you lose the key.
Important
Adding a key to your library does not activate the app on a device. To use the app on this device, activate it in the app. See Activate your app.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Have the key from your purchase email or from the app’s developer. A key starts with pkey_ and is
case-sensitive. Paste it instead of typing it, because the lowercase letter L and the number 1 look
alike, and so do the capital letter O and the number 0.
Add the key
Section titled “Add the key”- Sign in at polaris.locker.
- Select Activate license. On a small screen the button reads Activate. On a phone, it is in the middle of the bar at the bottom.
- Paste the key into License key.
- Select Continue.
- Check the license the dialog shows, such as how long it lasts and how many devices it allows.
- Select the button that reads Add and the app’s name.
If an app or an email sent you here, the dialog opens with a note saying who sent you, and the key may already be filled in. Check that it matches the key you have.
Check it worked
Section titled “Check it worked”The dialog says In your library, and the app appears in your library. To see the app, select the button that reads Open and the app’s name. To add another key, select Activate another.
Remove the app from your library. Its key still works, so you can add it again. See Remove an app from your library.
If the key is not accepted
Section titled “If the key is not accepted”The dialog checks the key before it sends it. What to do depends on what the dialog says:
- The key is cut short, too long, has a space or line break in it, or is not a Locker license key: copy the whole key again in one piece.
- The key looks like a Steam key: activate that key in Steam, not here.
- The dialog could not find the key: paste the key instead of typing it.
- Too many tries: wait a minute, then try again.
- The developer manages the license elsewhere: it cannot be added here, so ask the developer.
You may see this message if the license is in another account.
The dialog offers Use a different key, which clears the field. If the license should be yours, ask the app’s developer to move it.
You may see this message if the license is tied to an email your account has not verified.
To fix it:
- Select Add and verify that email. It opens Sign-in methods with Add an email ready.
- Enter that address.
- Enter the code Locker sends to it.
- Add the key again.
If you cannot open that email, ask the app’s developer to give the license to an email you can open.
You may see this message if an app limits how often a key can be entered.
When the limit is used up, you can still add the key to your account:
- Add the key with the steps in Add the key. The dialog accepts it with a warning.
- Sign in to the app instead of entering the key.
