Device limit reached
Your license is already on all the devices it allows. To use the app on this device, free one of the others.
Important
Polaris Locker cannot raise the limit. Only the app’s developer can. To ask for more devices, see Get help with an app.
You may see this message when the license is on all its devices.
Free a device
Section titled “Free a device”Your app may look different. Use the branch that matches what it shows.
The app lists your devices
Section titled “The app lists your devices”- Select Replace a device.
- Choose a device you no longer use. The app marks the device that has gone longest without use as Least recent, and may select it for you.
- Read what happens.
- Select Replace and continue.
The app sends you to your library
Section titled “The app sends you to your library”If the app opens your library in a browser, or shows a code to scan with your phone:
- Select Replace a device or Open in browser, or scan the code with your phone.
- Sign in to Locker. If the license is already in an account, use that account.
- Choose the device to remove.
- Select the button that reads Remove and the device’s name.
- Go back to the app. Some apps try again by themselves. If yours shows Try again, select it.
If the license is not in your library yet, the page first asks you to add its key. See Add a license with a key. If you no longer have the key, see Find a lost license key.
The app shows neither
Section titled “The app shows neither”If the app tells you to sign out of the app on another device, or gives you no way to free one:
- On another device where you use the app, sign out. See Move your license to a new computer.
- Go back to the app and try again.
If you cannot reach that device and the app is in your library, remove the device there instead. See Manage your devices. If the app is not in your library, its developer frees devices. See Get help with an app.
What happens when you free a device
Section titled “What happens when you free a device”The other device stops counting toward your limit, and its app asks to be activated again. Its saved files stay on it. You can add it back later. See Manage your devices.
Check it worked
Section titled “Check it worked”The app continues. After you enter a key, it shows Activated.
Activate the device you removed again, as long as you are under the limit.
