Manage your devices

A device is a computer, phone or tablet where you activated an app. Your library shows which devices use each license, and you can remove one you no longer use.

The device limit

Your license allows a limited number of devices at once, and the developer sets the number. On the app’s page in your library, Devices shows how many are in use, such as “2 of 3 devices in use”. Devices that no longer count toward the limit are mentioned next to that count. A device that has not been seen for 90 days stops counting. If you use it again, the app may ask you to activate it or sign in again, and it counts again.

See your devices

1. Sign in at polaris.locker.
2. Open the app’s page and find Devices.

Each device shows its name, system, app version and when it was last seen. A device with no name shows Unnamed device.

Some apps also list your devices, on a screen titled Your devices. Your app may look different.

What happens when you remove a device

• It stops counting toward your limit straight away.
• The app on that device asks you to activate it, or to sign in again, the next time it starts.
• Its saved files stay on that device.
• It is unlinked from your other devices, so they stop connecting to it.
• You may get an email telling you the device was removed. If you did not remove it, select Secure your account in that email.

Remove a device

1. Open the app’s page in your library and find Devices.
2. Select Remove next to the device.
3. Read what happens.
4. Select Remove to confirm.

To stop, select Keep it.

If the license is not in your library yet, add its key first. See Add a license with a key.

Check it worked

The device is gone from the list, and the count goes down by one.

Undo

Open the app on that device and activate it again, as long as you are under the limit. See Activate your app.

Rename a device

You rename a device in the app, not in your library, and only on that device. Some apps have no rename option. Your app may look different.

1. Open the app on the device you want to rename.
2. In the app’s list of devices, select Rename next to the device.
3. Type a name.
4. Select Save.

If a device cannot be loaded, removed or renamed

Check your connection and try again. A device can be renamed only in the app on that device. See the messages about loading the device list, removing a device and renaming a device.
