Secure your account
Use this page when an email from Polaris Locker asks Wasn’t you? and you don’t recognize the change. Work through the steps in order.
Important
Anyone who can read your email can ask for a sign-in code. If you think someone has access to your email, Google, Apple or Steam account, secure that account first. Otherwise the steps below don’t keep them out.
Open your sign-in methods
Section titled “Open your sign-in methods”In the email, select Secure your account. It opens Sign-in methods in your account. The link only opens the page and doesn’t sign anyone in, so sign in first if the page asks.
If you’re not sure the email is real, don’t select the link. Go to polaris.locker yourself and sign in if it asks. Then open the account menu and select Sign-in methods. To tell a real email from a fake one, read Emails from Polaris Locker.
Remove sign-in methods you don’t recognize
Section titled “Remove sign-in methods you don’t recognize”Do this first. A method you didn’t add lets someone sign in again.
- Under Sign-in methods, find each email, account or passkey you didn’t add.
- Select the button next to it: Remove for an email or passkey, Disconnect for Apple, Google or Steam.
- If you see Confirm it’s you first, confirm it’s you. A passkey or an emailed code removes the method at once. See Sign in to Polaris Locker.
- If you don’t see that prompt, or after Sign in again with, select the button that names the method and starts with Remove or Disconnect.
Sign out browsers you don’t recognize
Section titled “Sign out browsers you don’t recognize”- Under Where you’re signed in, select Sign out next to each browser you don’t recognize.
- If you’re not sure which browser is yours, select Sign out everywhere.
- Select Sign out everywhere again to confirm.
Sign out everywhere does this:
- It signs out every browser, this one included.
- Apps you signed in to with Locker sign out too. A device that got its license by signing in stops using it.
- Your licenses stay in your library.
Sign in again afterwards.
Remove devices you don’t recognize
Section titled “Remove devices you don’t recognize”Open each app in your library, find Devices, and select Remove next to a device you don’t recognize. See Devices.
Optional: add a passkey
Section titled “Optional: add a passkey”Add a passkey, and you can confirm it’s you with it later instead of an emailed code. See Use a passkey.
Check it worked
Section titled “Check it worked”Only sign-in methods and browsers you recognize are left. Each removed method sends a notice to every verified address on your account.
Still need help?
Section titled “Still need help?”- If the sign-in code doesn’t arrive, read Your sign-in code didn’t arrive.
- If someone else changed your email or sign-in methods and you can’t sign in, see Get help with an app. Locker doesn’t publish a help address.
